Whether you’ve performed before, are polishing your first poem, or just want to listen, you’re welcome. We believe in giving ourselves the chance to step up without barriers, and the competition element adds a bit of fun and recognition.

Nikki Szofia

Nikki Szofia is a spoken word artist, poet, singer-songwriter and kleinkunstenaar whose work weaves together the personal and the political.

 

Based in Amsterdam and Amstelveen (where she currently serves as Stadsdichter), she brings a voice that is soulful, introspective, and committed to social themes.

 

Her music blends poetry, melody, and theatrical flair, offering performances that resonate with emotional depth and social awareness.

Meliza de Vries

Meliza de Vries is a poet, illustrator, and cultural programmer known for her creative workshops that connect word-art with everyday experience. She has performed at festivals such as Poetry International and Dichters in de Prinsentuin, and brings a gentle, hands-on approach to guiding others in finding their poetic voice.

 

At The Poet Ink, Meliza will lead the poetry workshop, inviting participants to explore emotion, imagery, and rhythm through personal expression.

A place where art and poetry belong together, where bold and imaginative works from the movement born in 1948 by artists and poets who believed in freedom, creativity, and spontaneity.  Surrounded by bold, imaginative works, it’s the perfect setting for an evening of spoken word and shared expression.

By public transport:

  • Tram: From Amsterdam Zuid take tram line 5 or 25 towards Amstelveen.

  • Bus: From Amsterdam city centre, take bus 357 or 358 (Connexxion) towards Amstelveen Stadshart. Both stop near the museum.

By car:
